SOUTH DEVON RAILWAY The South Devon Railway is a preserved branch line operated between Buckfastleigh and Totnes in Devon. It creates the atmosphere typical of Great Western Railway branch lines of the past. The railway runs alongside the River Dart for most of its length. DV1 : 2-6-2T 5526 approaches Totnes at Dartington on 14th August. DV2 : 0-6-0PT 1369 leaving Totnes at Dartington, passing ‘Pixie Falls’ on 14th August. DV3 : 2-6-2T 5526 leaving Staverton on the run to Totnes on 14th August. DV4 : 0-6-0PT 1369 approaching Staverton on a trip from Totnes on 14th August. DV5 : viewed from Riverford Bridge, 0-6-0PT approaches Staverton with a train for Totnes on 14th August. DV6 : 0-4-2T 1420 leaves Riverford Bridge with a trip from Totnes on 7th August. DV7 : 2-6-2T 5526 approaches Riverford Bridge with a train for Totnes on 7th August. DV8 / DV8a : 0-4-2T 1420 crosses the River Dart at ‘Whirlpool Bridge’ on the approach to Buckfastleigh on 7th August. |
